 I could not believe that I had been missing so much.  My wife and I can now listen to the TV without blasting her out of the room or my straining to understand what was being said.  Before my hearing aids, in a crowded, noisy room, I often had to nod and smile and act like I understood what a person was saying to me.  Now when there is background noise present, I can tell what people are saying.  I hear so much more when I'm outside - birds, the wind in the trees, etc.  I just thought I was hearing things like that before, but I was missing so much.
